Character name: Jean Grey
Character journal:
ashandflame
Series name: Marvel Comics
Canon notes: Jean is from Earth-TRN240 which is a version of Marvel 616 where modern day Beast brought the original five X-Men into the future to "fix" it. This Jean has never been possessed by the Phoenix Force (though she's had some interesting conversations with it) and basically co-exists with the resurrected older version of herself. She was in Drift Fleet twice - once in summer 2018 and from April 2019 until Drift Fleet endgame.
Species: Homo sapien superior (mutant-human)
Age: 23
Arrival Condition: Jean is not injured, per se, but she has one hell of a psychic hangover that she'll get over in a few days.
History: Canon history. Jean comes to Revival Project two years after the Drift Fleet endgame. While in the Fleet, Jean launched a psychic probe at the Marsiva and discovered that there was something alive inside it, something that made her recoil in fear. Those fears were confirmed during endgame and the shock of battle was enough to send Jean back home.
She returned to her canon exit and was then assimilated by a Poison on Klimtar - and therefore had to destroy her physical body to be rid of it. Arriving in Agra 10 will provide Jean with a physical body once again but with the limit on her powers she experienced within the Fleet.
Jean's most notable relationships while in the Fleet were with Kitty Pryde, a fellow X-Man from another timeline, Remy LeBeau (same name, different timezone) & Wanda Maximoff (didn't know any mutants in spite of being a mutant, cool story.)
Personality:
Jean is, by nature, tenacious and determined. Brought forward into the future some 40+ years in order to right wrongs and make the world a better place, she has a heavy burden on her shoulders and it's not something that's always sat easily with her - it's hard to be told that your older counterpart was possessed by a cosmic entity, died, and the whole world went to hell in a handbasket afterward. For a while, she rejected her identity as Jean, an X-Man and even a mutant in search of a normal life; it's not something that ever lasts long with her, though, and Jean's whole life is tethered to the X-Men whether she wants it to be or not.
She has a strong sense of morality but isn't afraid to compromise that if she feels like it's in the best interest of the other person - at least as far as telepathy is concerned. If it's a matter of life and death, Jean would rather ask forgiveness than permission, and her tendency to make those judgment calls where other peoples' boundaries are concerned is something she struggles to balance. When it comes to physical damage, though, Jean has a massive guilt complex and will always do whatever she can to minimize casualties and preserve life. She tends toward maiming or stunning an enemy over killing it, always, and feels remorse if circumstances mean that collateral damage is unavoidable.
Being a telepath, overt emotion and expression isn't exactly her forte (everything is just easier inside your mind, after all), but she does possess a keen insight into how other people tick solely because she's been eavesdropping on other people's thoughts for almost as long as she can remember. She can be possessive of her friends, owing to the fact that both as a time-traveler and a mutant, she has very little to ground her and call her own, but she always has their best interests at heart.
In order to protect herself, she adopts a devil-may-care sarcasm and a flippant attitude about the day to day but deep down, Jean is immensely crippled by an anxiety to be her best self, to make a difference, to be perfect. It manifests in how she can sacrifice herself for her team without so much as a thought but not be able to talk to Scott about their relationship, in how she can be outwardly annoyed by Quentin Quire but would do anything to keep him safe.
More than anything, Jean wants to matter. She isn't immune from the ego complex that plagues many telepaths and given that she's been brought into this timeline for a distinct purpose - to fix it - she wants very much for every action she takes to matter. She wants it to be worth it. She doesn't want to live with regrets, with what-ifs and maybes, and it makes her a little bit more reckless than she might be normally. She's a natural born leader and easily commands her team of X-Men and often those who work alongside them (Venom is a notable example) by being the first to lay her life on the line if it comes to it.
Being in the Fleet only magnified these qualities. She dove head first into investigating the Marsiva upon arrival solely because Kitty was someone she trusted and she felt she owed it to everyone to see what was going on. Jean is an action girl to the extreme. She isn't going to let others do the fighting while she hangs back; if anything, Jean wants to be on the front lines.
Jean also isn't afraid of losing herself in one capacity to find herself in another. Destroying her physical body helped to save the world so it was a no-brainer choice. These are the choices she gets asked to make on a regular basis and when push comes to shove, she's going to do it.
Pets: N/A
Abilities:
Jean is an Omega-level telekinetic and telepath. It is stated several times in her comic run that she's more powerful than her 616 counterpart, strongly considered to be the strongest telepath and telekinetic in the X-Man universe.
Here is a list of her canonical powers. The basics, though, are that Jean is a high-powered telepath and telekinetic, able to communicate mind-to-mind, read minds, create illusions, create shields and use telekinetic blasts.
